I delivered the school supplies to Family Promise this week, thank you! My trunk was packed and we filled a hallway with all your donations. I think the folks at Family Promise were quite impressed, and I know the kids are going to be well equipped for the upcoming school year. Thank you for your generosity and kindness. If you would like to volunteer with Family Promise, we are providing dinner for them on August 24. You can either cook and deliver, or cook and eat a meal with the families. If you are interested, let me know and I will get you signed up.
In the narthex you can see a beautiful watercolor of the Edgerton carriage house. This watercolor was donated to St. Mary’s by Bob and Sandie Perkins and accepted by the Vestry. Thank you to Bob and Sandie for this lovely artwork – it’s a piece of our history to treasure.
Are you interested in helping out with Sunday School? Currently we have people serve once a month during the 10 a.m. service from about 10 to 10:30 a.m. If you might like to teach (you can come up with your own lesson plans or I can provide them) or assist, I’d encourage you to join us at 9 a.m. on Sunday, August 26 for a planning meeting. Thank you to the wonderful teachers and assistants who have already agreed to help.
Sunday is your last chance to sign up to help at the Rummage Sale or to have a table. If you would like to sell rummage or help serve root beer floats, please sign up on the appropriate sheet. All of Dousman will be rummaging, so hopefully we will have a good turnout.
Finally, the next two weeks we will continue to collect a care package for seminarian Matt Phillips. Please drop off your cards and gifts in the basket in the Narthex.
Prayers and Blessings,
Mother Pippa
