From Mother Pippa 11.1.2026

First of all, my apologies – I had truly thought Canon Scott was going to be here this Sunday, but he is needed at another church. Hopefully you remembered to set your clocks back an hour and arrived at church on time instead of an hour early. The good news is that we will get three weeks of instructed eucharist sermons, so do let me know if there are any questions that you have.

Next week I am headed to San Diego for two days to go to my best friend’s wedding. I’ll be back by Wednesday, but please do remember to vote!

Our final Homebrewed Faith of 2026 was rescheduled for November 11. The topic is Apocalypse and we will meet at 7 p.m. at Johnny Pizzas.

During the month of November, we collecting funds to purchase Thanksgiving groceries for six local families. We received the names from Dousman Elementary and we will go shopping after the 10 a.m. service on Sunday, November 22. If you are able to donate funds to the cause, we’ll have a donation box in the narthex on Sundays, November 1, 8, 15 and 22. In addition to buying food for Thanksgiving, we are often also able to give the families a Pick ‘N Save gift card. If you are able to help with the shopping, please let me know. It’s nice to have one cart per family, and one shopper per cart.

November 22 is a busy day – it is Christ the King Sunday (the last Sunday of the Church Year), we are hanging Christmas lights at church (weather depending), Emmanuel UCC is joining us for our 10 a.m. service and we are going shopping for our Thanksgiving groceries. I hope you will join us!

Finally, December 6 we are inviting children from the surrounding areas to join us for Advent Crafts. That Sunday is a potluck Sunday, so if you are able to bring snacks for 10 a.m., please keep the kids in mind – cookies, kringle, etc. Thank you!

Prayers and Blessings,
Mother Pippa
