From Mother Pippa 1.26.2025

I am so pleased that you didn’t freeze solid this week. Hopefully the warmer temperatures will let us all thaw out a bit. I had several people ask if I had considered cancelling church when it got so cold. Generally, cold alone will not be enough to cancel church. I’m more concerned about deep snow or ice on the roads. However, as always, please decide what makes sense for you and your family. I continue to post the church service to YouTube and Facebook each Sunday, and you can watch the service by 1 p.m.

The Lost and Found is filling up, and so I ask that you please come and take a look and reclaim any of your lost items. I will be making a trip to Goodwill at the end of February to donate anything that has not be claimed by that time.

Your Year End Statements are available for pickup. They are in the Parish Hall to the right of the door as you enter. Please pick up your giving statement so we can save money on postage. If you have any questions about your statement, please contact Lynn with your questions.

Homebrewed Faith is meeting on Wednesday, January 29 at 7 p.m. We will be talking about Ecumenism. When different denominations and religions come together to work towards a common cause, or even just to have a discussion, we refer to that as being “ecumenical.” According to Google, ecumenism is the idea that Christians from different denominations should work together to promote unity and cooperation. The word comes from the Greek word oikoumene, which means “the whole inhabited world”. I hope you’ll join us for our discussion.

Other upcoming events include:
February 2 – Confirmation/Reception/Reaffirmation Class at 10:30 a.m.
February 9 – Confirmation/Reception/Reaffirmation Class at 10 a.m.
February 16 – Bishop’s Visit
February 22 – Bingo at 4 p.m. (Retro Theme)
February 26 – Homebrewed Faith at 7 p.m. at Johnny Pizzas (with the theme of Forgiveness)

Prayer and Blessings,
Mother Pippa
