Join us Sunday at 9 a.m. in the Library for our second Wills and Probate class. We learned so much on October 16, that we have asked Jordan for an encore. She has a wealth of information about trusts, powers of attorney and wills. Please join us to learn more!
The next day, November 13, we are welcoming Karen and David from Edward Jones to tell us about Minimum Required Distributions and options for Qualified Charitable Distributions. The tax code can be complicated, and Karen and David will help us navigate it more successfully. Please join us in the Chapel at 6 p.m. on Monday night.
Bingo is coming! In fact, it is Saturday, November 18 at 4 p.m.! Please sign up to let us know you are coming (and sign up your family and friends as well) and join us for bingo with white elephant prizes and lasagna. We always have a lot of fun playing, chatting and eating together as we build community through fellowship. All are welcome (but please let us know that you are coming).
We are collecting money to fund four Thanksgiving meals for local families. On November 19 the Outreach Team will go shopping to supply these families with all the necessities for a Thanksgiving dinner. We will then deliver the food directly to their homes. Any money we raise that is not spent on food will be equally divided between the families in the form of Metro Market gift cards.
Our annual Thanksgiving service is approaching on November 23 at 9 a.m. Please join us in the church that Thursday for a communion service that includes Thanksgiving hymns and readings.
Advent is just three weeks away, and the Living Compass Group will begin on Wednesday, November 29 at 9:30 a.m. (Holy Communion at 9 a.m.) Our theme this year is “Practicing Wonder with All Your Heart, Soul, Strength and Mind.” To quote from the introduction:
In these challenging and complicated times, on the surface it may seem like focusing on wonder is a luxury, a nice bonus or extra in one’s life if one has the space to do so. But in reality, it is critical to our well-being. Wonder invites us to pay attention to the Sacred that is present in every moment.
Prayers and Blessings,
Mother Pippa
