From Mother Pippa 4.18.2023

Despite Monday’s snow, we are moving towards springtime, and that means it’s time to clean up our stretch of Delafield Road (Highway DR). We are planning to gather on Saturday, May 6 at 9 a.m. The group meets on the southeast corner of Delafield Road and Highway 67 and works their way east. Please sign up in the Parish Hall if you are planning to join the group.

We continue to support the work of Family Promise. If you are not familiar, this is a ministry that houses families with the support of churches and other non-profits until they can afford to return to renting or home-owning. The initial structure was to host families at a church for a week, four times a year. Currently Family Promise owns a building, and we are being asked to provide meals and overnight hosts once a month. If you are interested in getting involved, please let me know.

Graduation Sunday is coming up on May 28. If you have family or friends who are graduating from school or another program, please email Lynn so we can include them in our bulletin that Sunday. In addition, we will be offering a blessing to any graduates who attend on May 28 (which is also Pentecost).

Now that I am back in the office, we are restarting Contemplative Prayer on Mondays at 5 p.m. Please come join me in the Chapel to sit in silence for 20 minutes and connect with God. I also have some guided meditations if you are interested.

Should you prefer a more active experience, all are welcome to join Seated Exercise Thursdays at 11 a.m. Marit leads the group in gentle strength, balance and stretch movements. While we do also vigorously exercise our mouths, I always leave feeling that I am breathing more deeply and have lost some of the stiffness in my muscles.

Finally, the Circus is coming to West Allis May 5-7. If you are interested in buying tickets, we have some coupons in the Parish Hall.

Prayers and Blessings,
Mother Pippa
