Our first Convention as the reunited Diocese of Wisconsin is this Friday and Saturday. Your delegates are heading up to Steven’s Point to meet with the entire Diocese as we move into the future. On Saturday we will celebrate the installation of Bishop Matt Gunter as the 12th Bishop of Wisconsin (the first one since 1886).
Sunday is the first Sunday of the month, which means we have one combined service at 9 a.m., followed by healing prayer, followed by a combined Coffee Hour. Mark your calendars and set your alarm clocks as we gather in worship together.
The Blessing of the Animals is on Saturday, October 12 at 10 a.m. We will gather in the North Parking Lot for a brief service and blessing. All animals are welcome (in person or by photo), and it’s a lot of fun to include God’s creatures in this service.
The following Saturday, October 19, we will have our final Adopt a Highway cleanup at 9 a.m. Please sign up in the Parish Hall in you are able to help. That evening, at 4 p.m., we will have our first Bingo of the year. Bring a salad or side dish to share, and remember – no fish or shellfish!
October 20 we will have our Bible Study following both services. Bring your Bibles, your thoughts and your questions as we explore this foundational book.
October 26 is Halloween on Main. Please sign up to help distribute chili or sell root beer floats. This is a wonderful way to get our name out in the community. If you can’t come and volunteer, please come and participate! We won the chili competition our first year, and came so close the last two years. Please come, try the chili, vote (and turn in your ballot) so that we can bring the trophy home again this year. Our chili really is the best.
Prayers and Blessings,
Mother Pippa
