Happy Second Sunday of Easter! As we consider what it means to believe and have faith without visual proof, we hear the Gospel story of Thomas.
This Sunday we have one combined service at 9 a.m. followed by a catered coffee hour. Bishop’s Sweets is catering our coffee hour for free after some hiccups with the catering for our Consecration Sunday last fall. I hope you will join us for some delicious food following the service.
You may notice that there is a note earlier in the bulletin about the beginning of Sunday School. On Sundays when Holly and/or Pam are able to offer Sunday School, we will be excusing the children at the start of the service so they have more time for their lesson. On Sundays when we have a children’s sermon instead of Sunday School, we will skip excusing them early in the service and instead invite them up before the adult’s sermon. Hopefully this will give our wonderful Sunday School teachers more time to finish the crafts that go with their lessons.
This coming Saturday (April 18) is our last movie for the program year. We will be watching Grumpier Old Men at 3 p.m. on April 18. We’ll provide the popcorn and movie – I hope to see you there!
Next Sunday (April 19) we are getting together for our first meeting to plan a St. Mary’s cookbook. It’s been several years since we put one together, and we surely are blessed with talented cooks and bakers. You can participate by either: emailing me a recipe; printing out a recipe and putting it in the box in the Parish Hall; joining us for our meeting at 9 a.m. on April 19. Thank you for your help!
Are you interested in watching the show about Jesus’ life, The Chosen? There is a signup in the Parish Hall for all who are interested to put their names down so we can schedule a time to watch together. Please sign up if you are interested!
Finally, we are looking for a couple new hosts for coffee hour. I have some people who need a partner, since their previous partners have stepped back for a bit. If you are interested, please let me or Lynn know.
