Happy October! The weather is leaning towards autumn and I hope you are enjoying the changing colors of the leaves.
Thank you to everyone who turned in an RSVP for October 11, Consecration Sunday. If you did not do so last Sunday, please fill out one this Sunday and put it in the offering plate. If you do not RSVP, you’ll receive a phone call so that we can finalize our numbers for the caterer. I hope you will join us on October 11, remember it’s one service at 9 a.m. followed by a catered coffee hour. I look forward to seeing you there!
This Sunday is our monthly Potluck Coffee Hour. Thank you to everyone who brought a dish to share, and to the Vestry for doing the set up and clean up.
Starting this Wednesday, October 7, we will have Prayers for a Peaceful Election at 6 p.m. in the Chapel. Join us to pray for our country, for wise decisions and for peace as we are inundated with ads, phone calls and spam texts. We’ll pray all four Wednesdays in October at 6 p.m. Of course, please mark your calendars and vote on November 3!
On Saturday, October 10, we will have our annual Pet Blessing at 10 a.m. in the north parking lot. The evening of October 10, our Saturday Eucharist begins at 5 p.m. This service uses the same bulletin as Sunday morning, but it gives you a quieter option for worship.
Thank you to everyone who has donated coats and other cold weather gear. We will continue collecting through October. In November we will shift to collecting funds for Thanksgiving Groceries and collecting gifts for Safe Families. Outreach decided to make Lad Lake a recipient of our Christmas offering this year, and so we will be collecting gifts for specific children and families in November and December. The gifts need to be delivered by December 15.
