St. Mary’s continues to wow and overwhelm me with your generosity! We received 50 pledge cards on Sunday, and 27 of them represented increases from last year. That’s over 50%! We are currently on track to have a 6% increase in giving over 2026. Thank you for your support of this parish financially, as well as with your time and skills. If you were not with us last week, we mailed a pledge card to your home, but we won’t call and nag you for it’s return. At St. Mary’s, there is no need. You prayerfully consider your pledges and are beyond generous in supporting the parish’s ministry.
Thank you to Mother Liz for preaching and presiding this Sunday. I am down in Lake Geneva at Holy Communion for their Consecration Sunday. Father Ryan set the bar very high, and I hope to be equally helpful at Holy Communion. I will be back at St. Mary’s on October 25.
November 1 is All Saints’ Sunday and we will have a guest preacher – Canon Scott Leannah! Canon Scott will be at both services on All Saints’. All Saints’ is also the end of Daylight Saving Time, so don’t forget to set your clocks back an hour on October 31 or you will be an hour early to church.
Are there any 10 a.m. folk who are interested in Chalice Bearing? Many of our 10 a.m. Chalice Bearers also sing in Choir, and are not available on Sundays when they sing. Our Chalice Bearers distribute the wine, holding their chalice so people can intinct (dip) their wafer, while saying “The Blood of Christ, the Cup of Salvation.” If you are interested, please let me know!
Finally, kick your baking brains into gear! St. Mary’s is holding a Cookie Walk on Saturday, November 28, from 9 am to 1 p.m., to raise money to update the kitchen. We need bakers! If you’d like to help out, please bake at least 2 dozen Christmas Cookies. Mini quick breads, cut bars and candy are welcome too. Please label your cookies with your name and the type of cookie (and any allergens). Drop off cookies on Friday, November 27 (or contact Jane and Kim). The signup sheet is in the Parish Hall.
Prayers and Blessings,
Mother Pippa
