September is finally here and I am back with you all. I wrote this before going on vacation, but I hopefully had a lovely time away and now am delighted to be back with you all. September kicks off any number of events, beginning with the Annual Meeting. Next Sunday, September 8, we will have one service at 9 a.m., followed by a Potluck and the Annual Meeting. This week you will receive an email of the Annual Report as well as the draft budget. I look forward to going over it with you all next Sunday.
At the Annual Meeting we will have four flipchart sheets to gather your thoughts. Each table will have post-its for you to share:
- What is going well at St. Mary’s?
- What should change/start/stop?
- What goals should we have for 2025?
- What is your favorite hymn or song? (feel free to list more than one)
The fourth is because while people seem to want more contemporary music at St. Mary’s, we haven’t received feedback about what that means. Is that Taize? Is it Godspell music? Is it Christian radio songs? All of these are welcome, but we’d like to know what people’s favorites are so they can appear more frequently on Sundays. Thank you for your help.
