July is winding down; can you believe it? I hope you have a chance to come down to Cory Park this weekend for Derby Days. St. Mary’s will be selling root beer floats and ice cream sundaes. We’ll be at the south end of the park, right in front of the tennis courts.
The Workman family sent us a lovely thank you note. Thank you for your generosity to this family as they mourn their husband and father. I’ve posted the note on our Outreach Board.
One theory on inviting people into a church splits the process into three parts: Invite, Welcome, and Connect. Your Welcome Team is focusing on that first step this coming Tuesday as we walk around the Three Pillars neighborhood. We’ll hang invitations to join us on each door. The next steps are yours: welcoming our newcomers (noticing them and introducing yourself) and connecting them. St. Mary’s is excellent at welcoming people, thank you! Connecting means helping people join whichever ministries they feel called towards. My hope is that everyone is as involved as they want to be. Should you (or someone else) want to join a ministry, I’d be delighted to connect you.
