From Mother Pippa 5.11.2025

As we mark Mother’s Day this Sunday, I hope you have the opportunity to reach out and recall the women who have mothered you. I likewise pray that those who you have mothered reach out in love and thanksgiving. As is our tradition, we will have flowers as a thank you for all who have served as a mother (or mother-figure) on Sunday.

Contemplative Prayer is changing its time. We are moving to Tuesdays at 4 p.m. We meet in the Chapel and sit in quiet for 20 minutes. This can be a great way to calm and center and connect with God. All are welcome.

At the end of May we will be celebrating our graduates. If you have family or friends who are graduating, please contact Lynn so we can list them in the May 25 bulletin. We will also have a special prayer for any graduates who are able to join us that Sunday.

We are collecting bedspreads for Lad Lake! The Dousman Lad Lake site needs twin-sized bedspreads for their male boarders. The young men are between ages 8 and 18. St. Mary’s will be collecting bedspreads and financial donations throughout the month of May. Any help you can offer is much appreciated!

A vegetable garden St. Mary’s is in the works… The Diocese of Wisconsin granted St. Mary’s Church a $4,000 grant to do the project! Marit and JR marked off the spot behind the shed, and Brian L. tilled the soil. We have three rows of potatoes planted, and have ordered five raised beds for vegetables. Volunteers who would like to help with assembly, one-time projects, planting or weeding, please let Marit know. We have plans for a compost pile as well, so we can start saving our Sunday coffee grounds!

As we start our own garden, St. Mary’s is once again hosting the Dousman Farmer’s Market! Vendors with fresh produce, crafts and baked goods will be at St. Mary’s North Parking Lot every Wednesday from 2-6 PM. I hope you’ll come and check it out!

Prayers and Blessings,
Mother Pippa
