From Mother Pippa
Christmas is nearly here! We are entering the last week of Advent, and the excitement is building. This Sunday is your last chance to: drop off gifts and donations for Lad Lake, sign up to sponsor Christmas flowers, and sign up to indicate when you are not able to serve January – March.
Sunday is our annual Longest Night Service. While Advent looks towards the joy and wonder of Christmas, it does not negate the reality of loss, pain and sorrow. Longest Night Service gives us an opportunity to hold those emotions, not with shame or rejection, but with the compassion of community. All are welcome to join us for worship at 5 p.m.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for Winterfest two weeks ago, and brought a friend to church last Sunday. We came in second in the chili competition with 26 votes (first place had 42, third place had 18). Both services saw friends and visitors for Bring a Friend to Church Sunday, and the tables practically groaned under the weight of all the delicious food for Coffee Hour. Thank you!
I hope you will join us for one or more of our Christmas Services. All are welcome as we recall the fulfillment of God’s promise to us – to live with us, walk with us, love us and redeem us. Should you wish to talk with me, please give me a call or send me an email.
Finally, please mark your calendars:
