From Mother Pippa 10.5.2021

We are now in our third week of Stewardship, and I wonder what gift revelations you may have discovered. Have you looked at how to give? Or how to receive? Or what to give? I hope no matter your reflections you are feeling drawn closer to God and one another in community. This Sunday our discussion question will be: “How do you give the perfect gift?” Should you prefer to type your thoughts, you can go to: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/SJMCZ32
Our ingathering Sunday is October 24, and the Vestry is hosting Coffee Hour following both services. I hope to see you at our celebration!

I am currently looking for people who are interested in serving on the Vestry. St. Mary’s Vestry terms are for two years and we really benefit when we fill those seats with people who love St. Mary’s and want to help guide and direct our ministry together. Should you want to put your name forward or you would like to learn more about serving on the Vestry, please feel free to talk with me or another Vestry Member. We actually have a lot of fun at our meetings and are careful to be respectful of people’s time. While it is an important role, we do our best to make sure it’s not too burdensome.

This coming Monday we are beginning our evening Adult Education. Our first three weeks will focus on Sin and the Bible. How is sin viewed in the Bible? What are the roles that grace and atonement play in redemption? What is our responsibility in this give and take? Join us at 6:30 p.m. either in the Chapel or on Zoom to join in the discussion. While the theme will cross all three weeks, you are welcome to come to any or all of the classes, as fits your schedule. Here’s the Zoom link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/85694791378?pwd=Z3pJU2JLN2dhYU9oNXVKSGNJL1ViZz09

Mark your calendars! Our final Adopt a Highway is Saturday, October 23 at 9 a.m. Please join us as we clear our two miles of Delafield Road, hopefully before the snow begins to fall.

Finally, I want to thank people for filling out our survey on fests. Thank you for taking the time to discern your availability and passion for our various events. All of them are wonderful, and I appreciate the way you are able to clearly state where you can volunteer, and where you can’t. We will have the surveys available for several more weeks, so please fill one out, either at church on Sunday or online at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/BBFR5CD.

Prayers and blessings,
Mother Pippa
