Thank you to everyone who has donated winter clothing and funds for the Hospitality Center. I had a few questions last Sunday about the Hospitality Center, and wanted to let you know that it is a Diocese of Milwaukee ministry based in Racine that provides hot meals to folks. The Hospitality Center provides basic needs: breakfast and lunch, a monthly laundry program, daily morning prayer, support groups, and more. We are helping them with their clothing closet, which helps keep their clients warm and covered throughout the year. We will be collecting through November 7.
Our final Adopt a Highway for 2021 is Saturday, October 23. Please sign up and join us in cleaning up Delafield Road between Highway 67 and Sawyer Road. It’s a lovely walk, and so satisfying to see the difference after the cleanup.
Bring you Pledge Cards, because next Sunday, October 24 is Pledge Sunday! Thank you to the Vestry for hosting celebratory Coffee Hour following both services. As we continue to move back towards normal, I am always delighted by the chance to gather with the St. Mary’s community to celebrate.
Another upcoming fellowship opportunity is our Game Night on Saturday, November 6 at 5 p.m. All are welcome, please feel free to bring a favorite game, or just bring yourself. We’ll have games and people to teach them as well as dinner. If you’d like to bring a dish to share, please sign up in the Parish Hall.
Our All Saints Evensong will be Sunday, November 7 at 5 p.m. Remember that November 7 is also the end of Daylight Savings Time, so set your clock back an hour, or you’ll arrive to church an hour early. If you would like to carve a pumpkin for Evensong, patterns are available in the Narthex.
Mark your calendars! Saturday, November 20 we will have Advent crafts in the morning – all are welcome. Thursday, November 25 is Thanksgiving and we will have service at 9 a.m. December 4 we will be offering an Advent Quiet Day, again at 9 a.m. I hope to see you there!
Prayers and Blessings,
Mother Pippa
