Life at St. Mary’s continues to hum along. The Welcome Team is hosting a Card Game night at St. Mary’s on January 31 from 3-5 p.m. Free popcorn will be provided, so just bring your favorite non-alcoholic beverage, and any ideas for a favorite card game. Or, just bring yourself. I have decks of cards and fun games to teach and play!
Thank you to everyone who has signed up to bring a dish to share for our February 1 Potluck Coffee Hour. Don’t forget that if you want to host Coffee Hour for a special reason you can reserve your specific date by signing up in the Parish Hall.
We are bringing new life to our pews. On Saturday, February 7 at 10 AM, we are scrubbing the pews with Murphy’s Oil Soap and polishing them with Old English. Please don your work clothes and head on over. Remember many hands make light work.
One of my goals for this year is to strengthen our training for our lay ministers. I want to not only talk about the duties of the role, but also the theology behind them. Please plan to attend a training following the service if you are currently serving or would like to join the rota:
Feb 8 – Acolyte Training
Feb 22 – Altar Guild Training
March 8 – Chalice Training
March 15 – Greeter Training
March 22 – Reader Training
We will pass out guides for each ministry, and also talk about the way you contribute to our communal worship. Thank you!
We are putting together a new poster of all our members for the Parish Hall. I will send the poster to the printers at the start of February, so if you would like to update your photo, please get it to me ASAP. I am also happy to take a photo of you on Sunday if you’d like.
Finally, please know that if we need to cancel a church service, we will send out an email to all parishioners by Saturday evening. The closure will be posted on the front page of our website, and we will post the closure on Facebook. We will continue to post the service online, so if you do not feel safe driving to church, please stay home. We want you to be warm and safe!
Prayers and Blessings,
Mother Pippa
