Sunday we will conclude our three-part sermon series on the liturgy. I hope you’ve enjoyed learning more about the history, logic and theology behind our Sunday worship. I’ve tried to give you a good overview without completely nerding out over all the excellent background. Believe it or not, there is still so much more, but we’ll leave that for another year.
I am heading to Virginia for a conference next Tuesday (September 30). I’ll return Monday, October 6, so you will have Mother Mary Trainor with you on October 5 for worship.
We kick off stewardship this Sunday with an announcement from Diane, one of our Consecration Sunday Team members. I hope you will join us and begin to consider what you might be called to give for 2026.
Diane is currently our Senior Warden (as well as serving on Community Life and on Consecration Sunday). Other current Vestry members include John (Junior Warden), Tom, Craig, Jim, Terry, and Megan. In January, Tom and Craig will go off Vestry and Mary-Beth, Kim, and John will join the team. I’ll ask our Vestry members to stand and waive on Sunday so that you can help connect the face to the name.
In October we will collect gift cards for our college care packages. Each year we like to send care packages to our college students to let them know we wish them luck in their studies. We currently have two students in college, Leah and Allen. If I am missing any college students, please let me know. We will collect monetary donations and gift cards as they are the easiest to ship to students. Thank you for your support!
Prayers and Blessings,
Mother Pippa
