Thank you to everyone who attended the Annual Meeting last week. In case you missed it, here are some highlights:
- Vestry – Mary-Beth, Kim and John were elected to Vestry. Diane continues as Senior Warden, and John continues as Junior Warden. Other returning Vestry members include: Jim, Terry and Megan.
- Columbarium/Memorial Garden – Thank you for all the feedback on the Memorial Garden and Columbarium. If you have any further questions or comments, please contact Shawn, Craig, Kim, Mary or me.
- Outreach continues to be a strong value at St. Mary’s. In the last twelve months we gave away over $37,000 to outreach, not including in-kind donations of board games, bedspreads, cancer kits, and winter clothing.
- Annual Reports are available in the office if you would like a copy.
As you may know, I love liturgy. I love the rites and the rituals, and I love learning about the history behind our practice. For the next three weeks, instead of a normal sermon, I am instead going to share information about how and why we worship. On September 14 I’ll cover the opening hymn through the sermon, September 21 will be the Nicene Creed, Prayers of the People, Confession and Peace, and September 28 I’ll talk about Communion. Do you have any questions? Please let me know so I can include that information in this sermon series.
This Sunday during Coffee Hour we welcome Bexs Nelson, the Communications Director from the Diocese, to give us an update on the Haiti Partnership. Join me in learning how we are able to continue to support the people of St. Marc’s and Jeannette, Haiti.
Monday kicks off our fall classes with Wills & Trusts at 6 p.m. in the Chapel. Jordan Robinson-Delaney will present and be available for questions. I hope you will join us.
Prayers and Blessings, Mother Pippa
