From Mother Pippa 10.4.2022

There is such an excitement and energy around Stewardship Sunday. After careful consideration, discernment and prayer, we are committing ourselves to the ministry of St. Mary’s in an incredibly tangible way. Perhaps it is my own bias, much of my work is intangible, but I find Stewardship Sunday gives me a solid sense of how many people love, support and serve at St. Mary’s. There is something extra affirming about seeing all the people of St. Mary’s come together and place their offerings upon the altar. I hope you will join us for Sunday’s services.

We continue our Monday night program with Jamie Milaeger from Shorehaven. Jamie is the Life at Home Coordinator and has made it her business to learn the resources of Waukesha County. Jamie will focus on Living Wills and Powers of Attorney, but will also be happy to answer any questions you may have. The following week I will talk about funeral planning, and hopefully demystify the process.

Our final Adopt a Highway for 2022 is scheduled for October 15. Join us at 9 a.m. as we walk along Delafield Road for one last clean up before the snow falls. Current weather predictions call for a cool but dry day.

Our first Bingo Night of the program year is set for October 29. Come to this Halloween-themed event (costumes optional), invite family and friends for a fun evening. We will gather at 4 p.m. and serve nibbles around 6 p.m.

On November 4, the Lake Country Episcopal Churches are gathering for a Fish Fry at Reveres Wells Street Tavern. The hope is to gather Episcopalians together for fellowship and community building. Please RSVP by Monday October 17. You can email Doug, the organizer, at douglas.hagg@outlook.com or sign up in the Parish Hall. The cost is $25.25 per person, which includes everything except alcoholic drinks.

All Saints’ is just a month away. Join us for Evensong at 5 p.m. on November 6, and bring an icon. This could be the name of a saint you admire, a drawing, a set of their symbols, or some other item. Let your creativity freely flow as we remember the saints who have gone before us.

For November 13 we will be collecting the names of our veterans. Please email Lynn with the names of your family and friends who have served as well as those who are currently serving. We will print their names in the bulletin and hold them in our prayers.

Prayers and Blessings,
Mother Pippa
