Are you curious about how the altar is set up each Sunday? How do we decide what color to put on the altar? How do we pour the wine? What do we do with leftovers? Find out following both services this Sunday at our Altar Guild training. Please plan to join if you are currently on Altar Guild, would like to join the team, or simply want to dip your toes into this wonderful ministry.
Sunday is the beginning of Lent, and we have two Lenten Outreach projects.
We are collecting supplies for Wildlife in Need, an organization that provides treatment and care of injured, diseased, or orphaned Native wildlife, and returns the healthy viable animals to appropriate habitats in the wild. A wishlist is included in the bulletin.
We are also collecting funds to provide four local families with Easter dinner. We’ll collect funds through March 29, and go shopping March 30 to get the families their Easter groceries. There is a wooden box in the Narthex to collect donations.
We have two offerings for Lenten formation. The first is: Cultivating Healing and Wholeness with All Your Heart, Soul, Strength, and Mind by Living Compass. Lent is a time for introspection and self-reflection, a time to reflect on the core of what it means to live a Christian life in the midst of great change and uncertainty. Given that the words holy, whole, health, and healing all share a common root, this invitation aligns beautifully with our theme of Healing and Wholeness this year. The season of Lent is an ideal time to focus on healing and wholeness—for ourselves and for the world. The Living Compass booklets can be picked up in the Narthex. Join us on Wednesday mornings at 9:30 AM in the Chapel on February 25 to April 1.
Wednesday evenings in Lent we have Soup and Substance. Join us in the Church for Evening Prayer at 6 PM, and then move into the Parish Hall for soup at 6:30 PM and discussion at 7 PM. We’ll focus on the five promises made and reaffirmed in baptism. Each week we’ll welcome a different speaker to focus on what these promises mean in our lives.
- February 25 – Continue in the Apostles’ Fellowship (Dr. Garwood Anderson)
- March 4 – Whenever You Fall into Sin (Canon Scott Leannah)

- March 18 – Seek and Serve Christ in All Persons (Mother Jennifer McCombe)

Wishing you a blessed Lent,
Mother Pippa
