From Mother Pippa 2.15.2026

Sunday is the last Sunday after the Epiphany before we begin Lent. Each year our Gospel reading on this day is Jesus’ transfiguration – a mountaintop experience before we enter into the hard work of Lent. I hope you will join us on Sunday. Archdeacon Bill Dunlop will be with us and will preach. Following both services we will have our traditional “Shrove Tuesday” Pancake Coffee Hour, hosted by Community Life. Deacon Chuck is also bringing King Cake!

Next Wednesday is Ash Wednesday – the liturgical beginning of the Lenten season. I hope you will join us either at 9 a.m. (in the Chapel) or at 7 p.m. (in the Church) to deliberately enter into this season with intention, faithfulness and hope.

In the Diocesan news last week we were invited to write letters, notes of encouragement, and the like for vulnerable Episcopal congregations in MN. ALL AGES enthusiastically invited to participate. As Erin Wolf, our Camp Minister says, “frankly, children’s & youth ministries aren’t solely about supporting only those who sit in our pews — it is about supporting and loving our neighbors within our local communities and within those greater communities that we’re a part of!”

Letters, Notes, Cards, etc. can be sent to:

Minneapolis, MN 55411

If you would like to do more, here are two ministries that are helping get food and supplies out to those who need it most, as well as providing other forms of support:

  • Casa Maria Food Shelf (https://givebutter.com/casa-maria)
  • ECMN Migration Caucus (https://episcopalmn.org/blog/missioners/ecmn-migration-caucus)

Wishing you a transformative Transfiguration Sunday!

Prayers and Blessings,
Mother Pippa
