From Mother Pippa 4.26.2026

While the weather continues to bounce around, signs of spring are firmly here. In fact, this Sunday is our Ministry Fair! I hope you’ll take time to browse the tables during Coffee Hour and perhaps discover a new ministry or two that interests you. Should you not find one, please let me know and we can discuss what ministry we might be able to start at St. Mary’s. As part of our charge of stewardship, we examine how we spend not only our money, but also our time and our skills. I hope you find ways to use the gifts God has given you to help care for the world that God has made.

St. Mary’s has a group talent for cooking and baking, and we are excited to put together a second “Book of Common Meals” (a play on the Book of Common Prayer). We are accepting recipes through September 15, and are hoping to have the Cook Book ready for sale by Halloween on Main. But, this will only work if you are willing to share your best recipes with us. Thank you!

This Wednesday marks the return of Homebrewed Faith. Pastor Leanne will be leading a discussion on “Why did Jesus die?” at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 29 at Johnny Pizzas. We always have a lovely time of formation, fellowship and lovely food.

I will be out of the office for most of next week. The Diocese of Wisconsin Clergy Conference is in Green Lake April 28-30. I will gather with other Episcopal Clergy from Wisconsin and learn more about how the church can use AI to spread the Gospel. Keynote speaker Katie Ott will lead sessions on: Church & AI – Social Gospel 2.0; Networked Theology Facing Social Divides; and Being Church in an Age of AI Companions, Guides, Healers, and Lovers. I admit to being something of a luddite, and I hope to return to St. Mary’s with new tools to help us reach out to our neighbors.

Prayers and Blessings,
Mother Pippa
