The Annual Meeting is approaching and we have two trainings coming up on Tuesday, January 19 at 6 p.m. and Wednesday, January 27 at 1 p.m. You can also request a paper ballot and vote by mail. Our quorum requirements mean that we need at least 40 people to attend the meeting and vote, either on Zoom or by paper ballot.
Our agenda includes: a report from the Senior Warden, including an update on the Bishop Search process; a presentation on the 2021 Budget; voting in new Vestry candidates (Jane Pennycuff and Julie Wolf are standing for the office, and we will accept nominations from the floor); voting in new delegates to Diocesan Convention (Tom Arndorfer, Carl Eschweiler, Lindsey Ricciardi and Sally Williams are standing for the roles and we will accept nominations from the floor); a Rector’s report including some goals for 2021 and an update on the Building Project; Bylaw changes; followed by thanksgivings and closing prayer.
Four changes to the Bylaws are being proposed. The first is to the Finance Team. Currently the Treasurer is named as chair of the team. While the Treasurer should serve on the Finance Team, we would like the Chair to not have to also be the Treasurer. The second is to clean up some of the language around our Diocesan Delegates, specifically to no longer require the Junior Warden serve as a delegate and to allow people to specifically run as alternates. The third change is to specifically allow virtual Annual Meetings. The final is to change our quorum requirements so that while notice for the meeting is required, the people who gather constitute a quorum.
Spectrum came on Wednesday to connect us to our new internet. My hope is that with faster upload speeds we will be able to stream our 8 a.m. service to Facebook again and load it more quickly to YouTube. Thank you to all our online worshippers for your patience, hopefully this Sunday will be an improvement.
Finally, I would like to recommend Love is the Way by Presiding Bishop Michael Curry. We are reading it as part of our Wednesday morning Book Study, and I am really enjoying it. I hope you will consider picking up the book from your library or local bookstore and either reading it on your own or joining us on Wednesday mornings.
Prayers and blessings,
