From Mother Pippa 1.5.2021

Thank you to everyone who donated to the Christmas Offering! We raised a total of $3265 and so will be dividing that three ways to the Lake Country Cares Cabs, the Lake Area Free Clinic and the St. Mary’s Discretionary Fund. Thank you!

I am excited to let you know that next week we will be switching our phones and internet to Spectrum. At the moment we have about 1 mb/sec of upload speed, which means that streaming service is unpredictable, and if we record the service, we need to take the computer to someone’s home to upload it. Spectrum will give us about 35 mb/sec of upload speed, and I hope that means we will be able to stream our online services once again. This means that starting January 17, I am hoping service will be available by 8 a.m. on Sunday mornings. The best news is that our cost for phone and internet will actually go down a little bit because of this change.

Speaking of the internet, our Annual Meeting is coming up on January 31 at 10 a.m. on Zoom. If you are not familiar with Zoom, please consider attending a training on either: January 19 at 6 p.m. or January 27 at 1 p.m. The link for either training is:
Should you prefer to cast your vote by a paper ballot, please contact the office so we can mail you a ballot. Otherwise, we will vote electronically through Zoom. If you have any questions, please contact me. Thank you!

Finally, in my last message I asked for any recommendations you might have of apps, podcasts or books that helped form or support your faith. This week I thought I’d share two of mine. I recently started using the Daily Prayer App (on my phone the icon is orange with a sun rising). This app alerts me up to four times a day for a collect, some bible readings and prayers as well as a closing prayer. I really appreciate these moments of prayer and bible reading throughout my day, and find it helpful that the app can read you the bible readings should your hands be otherwise occupied. I also would recommend the Way of Love podcast, put together by the Episcopal Church. I listen to this podcast on the Stitcher app, but you can listen to it anywhere that has podcasts.

Prayers and blessings,
Mother Pippa
