From Mother Pippa 9.15.2020

Hello Everyone! I am back after two weeks away and it is wonderful to hit the ground running. I had a great time with my family and puttering around my yard, but now I am ready for the start of the program year.

This Sunday our schedule shifts. I am really excited about all the different ways we are able to offer worship, formation and fellowship, and hope you will let me know what works well and what can be improved upon.
We will have online service at 8 a.m., which you can watch later on Facebook and Zoom if 8 a.m. is too early for you. I know many people have enjoyed joining service Sunday afternoon or even Monday during the day.
At 9 a.m. we will have Zoom Adult Education. Carol McConnell will lead the group in reading and discussing Shalom from the Heart. This wonderful book focuses on Old Testament stories and provokes interesting and provoking discussions.
At 10 a.m. we will meet in our cars in the North (Hwy 67) Parking Lot. Ushers will pass out bulletins as you arrive, as well as a gift from the Hospitality Committee. You can then tune your radios to 97.9 to hear Carrie’s wonderful prelude, as well as the rest of the service. I will be outside, but you all will be sheltered from the elements in your cars. You can sing with Carrie, follow along in the bulletin, and be in fellowship with one another. Drive-in church also allows for some increased flexibility, such as eating breakfast during church, drinking coffee, and not worrying if your kids are making noise during the service. At communion I’ll go car to car with blessed wafers.
We’ll have Zoom Coffee Hour starting at 11:15 a.m. Or, you can start watching the Packers pre-game.

Finally, please mark your calendars for our monthly adult education class, beginning October 7 at 6 p.m. Presiding Bishop Michael Curry is a proponent of the Way of Love, a way of living our daily lives mindful of our Christian call and faith. As it says on the Episcopal Church website: “The Way of Love is a way of life. More than a program or curriculum, it is an intentional commitment to a set of practices. It's a commitment to follow Jesus: Turn, Learn, Pray, Worship, Bless, Go, Rest.” While each class will build upon the previous classes, it is also very possible to join in even if you’ve missed earlier classes.

Prayers and blessings,
Mother Pippa
