From Mother Pippa

Happy May! I hope you are enjoying the sunshine and the gorgeous flowers outside. I have been spending time in my yard, gardening and soaking up some sunshine.

This week I have had several people forward spam emails that claim to be from me. The email addresses have not resembled my actual email address, but please always feel free to call and check with me if you think an email sounds suspicious. I will never ask for money over an email, unless it’s a general Stewardship email. And even then, I’ll ask you to turn in a pledge card, not send me money over the internet.

Last Sunday, May 3, we prayed the Litany of Thanksgiving for a Church to celebrate 10 years of worship in our church. The anniversary is actually on April 11, but with all the excitement of online church, the anniversary slipped by. I did want to highlight this milestone in our history, and give thanks for a wonderful decade of worship, with many more to come.

This Saturday is our Adopt a Highway Clean Up. All are welcome at 9 a.m. at the Park and Ride on Delafield Road across from Aurora Summit Hospital. The Park-n-ride is at 67 & DR.  The lot is actually shut down, however there are several spaces to park along the southern edge of the old lot. Please wear a mask (for social distancing) and wear gloves (to protect your hands from garbage). Also, please pray for good weather.

This Sunday is Mothers’ Day, and while we might not be able to gather physically with our families this year, I want to let you know I am keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers and I hope you are able to honor the mother/mother-figures in your life.

Prayers and blessings,
Mother Pippa
