Welcome to 2020, the year we celebrate 150 years on the corner of Highway 18 and Highway 67. While St. Mary’s did worship earlier in the carriage house, we have now been witnessing God’s love on this corner for 150 years! Wow! At the Vestry Retreat in February we will be focusing on a vision for how to mark this year.
Speaking of Vestry, I am delighted to let you know that Kathy M. and Bill W. have expressed interest in serving on the Vestry. Additionally, Chris O. is willing to serve a second term. For those of you who are unfamiliar, at St. Mary’s we elect our Vestry members for a two year period, and each person can serve two terms before taking a break. I would like to thank Noelle BN and John W who are finishing up their Vestry term this month.
Speaking of John, he has arranged for CPR and AED training at St. Mary’s. We had a class two years ago, and it is time to renew. The training happens in two parts. The first step is going to: https://shopcpr.heart.org/courses/heartsaver-first-aid-cpr-aed and completing the online lesson. Then you must print out the certificate.
The second step is attending CPR class on Saturday, February 22 at 9 a.m. at the Dousman Fire Station.
The online lesson costs $15 per person and the class costs $20 per person. Scholarships are available as we would like to have as many people certified as possible. You will receive a certificate from the American Heart Association.
Please sign up in the Parish Hall.
Finally, the Annual Meeting is coming up on January 19. Please bring a dish to share for the Potluck at 11 a.m. After all, the Packers won’t be playing until the later game, so the football shouldn’t conflict (I’m slowly learning how important this is).
Prayers and blessings,
