From Mother Pippa 12.24.2019

Christmas is now truly upon us! I hope you are able to attend one of our Christmas services. We have a family service with Pageant and Eucharist at 4 p.m. December 24 as well as a more traditional Christmas Eve Eucharist at 10 p.m. You can also join us Christmas Day at 10 a.m. for worship and communion.

Sunday is the first Sunday of Christmas (we have two this year) and focuses on the beautiful hymn that begins the Gospel of John. In the beginning was the Word…

While the stores are moving on to Valentine’s Day, we know that Christmas goes from December 25 through January 5, and I hope that you find light and joy each and every day of Christmas.

The office will be closed next week, December 30 – January 3, in observance of Christmas, and so that your staff can spend time with their families. If you need to speak with me, please call my cell phone, 651.341.9629. I will also be checking email.

After the buildup and expectations of October, November, and December, Christmas can sometimes seem like an anti-climax. But, in fact, the season has just begun. The good news of God incarnate is present with us, a tangible sign of God’s love.

So remember that the light and message of Christmas is carried within you and it is a light you can share with your family, friends and the world. Even as the stores move on, we can remember the enduring Good News given to each one of us. To quote one of my favorite books, “Maybe Christmas (he thought) doesn’t come from a store. Maybe Christmas perhaps means a little bit more.”

Merry Christmas!

Prayers and blessings,

Mother Pippa
