From Mother Pippa 11.12.2019

This Saturday the Community Life Team is hosting Game Night at St. Mary’s! Join us at 5 p.m. for pizza and games, it should be fun for all ages. Whether you are new to board games or a board game veteran, please come and join in the fun. Feel free to bring your favorite game or a dish to share. St. Mary’s will provide pizza and beverages.

Thank you to everyone who donated coats, hats, gloves, scarfs, socks and underwear to the Hospitality Center. We collected enough to fill 21 large bags, and those were sent down to Racine this week. With all the snow and cold, it seems that we collected winter weather gear just in time. Thank you to the Outreach Team for organizing this collection and thank you to everyone who brought in donations.

This Sunday we will have a basket in the narthex to collect monetary donations for our annual Thanksgiving Baskets. We received the names of three families from St. Vincent du Paul who need some help with Thanksgiving this year. On November 24 the Youth Group will shop for the food and deliver it to the families.

November 24 is also Christ the King Sunday, the last Sunday in Lectionary Year C. We will have an Advent Fair between the services in the Parish Hall, everyone is welcome to come and make some Advent crafts. We will also set up the outdoor decorations for Christmas, and switch from white to blue in the church. Anyone who can stay and help following the 10 a.m. service would be much appreciated.

The Adult and Youth Confirmation classes have started and are going well. Please mark your calendars for December 8, which will be our last Bishop’s Visit with Bishop Miller. He is retiring in 2020. The loose plate collection on December 8 will go towards the Bishop’s Discretionary Fund.

Prayers and blessings,

Mother Pippa
