From Mother Pippa 9.17.2019

Thank you to everyone who donated to Episcopal Relief and Development for the Hurricane Dorian Relief. We collected $553 last Sunday and are sending it on to help people affected by the hurricane.

This Sunday is the start of our Stewardship Campaign. Our theme for this year is “Shining Our Light,” specifically in the context of Jesus’ saying that no one lights a lamp and then hides it. Please mark your calendars – our Pledge Sunday when we turn in our pledge cards and celebrate will be on October 27 following both services. The Stewardship Team and the Vestry will host a festive Coffee Hour following both services to thank you for all that you do to support St. Mary’s and our shared ministry in the world.

Speaking of supporting St. Mary’s, there is now a new way to donate to St. Mary’s – online! You can go to our website (https://stmarys-dousman.com) and click the new “Donate” menu option at the top. It is a very versatile way to donate: you can give with a credit card or through your bank; you can give once or repeatedly; you can give to the general fund or to another special collection. And once you give the first time, you can create an account for future giving, if you’d like. We have partnered with Vanco, a company that specializes in helping churches have safe and reliable online giving.

Another benefit to joining with Vanco is that at Fall Fest we will now be able to accept credit card payments. We have a card reader that is connected to our account and will be able to sell tickets to our parishioners and guests by credit card should they find they are short of cash. Hopefully this year will be a very successful celebration that supports our local fire department.

Finally, thank you to the 30 people who have filled out and returned the Adult Formation Survey. We will be accepting the surveys for two more weeks, so please fill out a blue survey in the Parish Hall or go online to: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/69PNHF2 I have really appreciated hearing from people and have learned a lot about where some of the energy for adult education and formation is residing. Make sure your voice is heard!

Prayers and blessings,

Mother Pippa
