Please join me in praying for glorious weather this Sunday. This weekend is Dousman Derby Days, when the village celebrates with music, food, and frog jumping. If the weather cooperates, we will have service by the river at 10 a.m. If walking is a difficulty, please feel free to drive behind the shed and towards the river to join us.
Regardless of the weather we will celebrate the end of our underwear collection with a Sundae Sunday! Thanks to Sheryl Beres and the Outreach Team for organizing this wonderful event. Socks and underwear remain the two most requested items for people who are housing insecure, and I am glad that we are able to help out.
In August we will begin collecting school supplies for the four families currently being housed by Family Promise. We have resumed helping out with meals four times a year, though the families have not yet returned to being housed by local churches. Hopefully we will be able to equip them for a wonderful upcoming school year.
Adopt a Highway is coming up on Saturday, August 6! Please sign up to help pick up our stretch of Delafield Road. Signup sheet is in the Parish Hall.
Dousman’s Annual Rummage Sale is Saturday, August 27. Each year Dousman invites people from all over to explore Dousman, one rummage sale at a time. If you would like to participate, please fill out a yellow signup form and turn it in to the office. St. Mary’s will also be selling food and drinks to the shoppers, if you are able to either cook or sell, please sign up in the Parish Hall.
Finally, if you ever use the side door on the NE end of the Parish Hall, please make sure it is locked before you leave. You can either use the deadbolt inside the door, or you can enter the code on the outside of the door and then lock the deadbolt. Thank you!
Prayers and Blessings,
Mother Pippa
