This Sunday is our annual St. Mary’s Day Celebration! If we were so inclined, we could have a St. Mary’s celebration every month, because that is just how cool our patron saint is. We will restrain ourselves, however, and enjoy a fun coffee hour potluck with outdoor games following both services this Sunday. According to the potluck signup sheet, at 8 a.m. we will have meatballs, Sloppy Joes as well as an assortment of salads and desserts. At 10 a.m. we will have Ham Rolls, BBQ Pulled Pork, hors d’oeuvres and an assortment of salads and desserts. Yum!
The following Saturday, June 10, we are going kayaking. Please sign up in the Parish Hall if you would like to go. We will meet just south of the Park and Ride on Sawyer Road and Delafield Road. We will then put in and kayak to church. We can provide kayaks and life vests if necessary.
The sign up sheets for Strawberry Fest continue to be posted. If you would like to provide treats for the bake sale, please bring them to the church on Saturday June 24 or Sunday, June 25. It would be helpful if they were already divided for sale and were labeled with any allergens. If you want to put a suggested price on your items, that would be helpful. If you are looking for inspiration, we have found that baked goods with strawberries sell especially well, as do low-sugar/no-sugar items and dog treats. We still need a few more shortcake and rum cake bakers as well.
The Wednesday morning class is meeting monthly this summer to watch some movies! We will meet June 28 to watch The Jesus Revolution, July 19 to see The Shack, and August 23, movie TBA. I hope you will join us for Morning Prayer at 9 a.m. in the Parish Hall, followed by movie watching at 9:30 a.m.
Sunday morning formation both for children and adults is on break for the summer, but Monday evening contemplative prayer will continue all summer long. Our outdoor services are scheduled for July 16 (at 8 a.m.), July 23 (at 10 a.m.), August 6 (at 8 a.m.) and August 13 (at 10 a.m.). If you have trouble walking to the outdoor service, you are welcome to drive there instead. If you enter the south parking lot (off Highway 18) there is a mown path to where we worship. I look forward to seeing you there!
Prayers and Blessings,
Mother Pippa
