Sunday is the Third Sunday in Lent, a mid point of the season. As we look back over the last 19 days, and towards the next 27, I hope you have found time to spend with God. How is your soul this Lent? Where is your relationship with God? If you would like a chance to talk about your spiritual journey, I am always happy to listen. (In case you are wondering about the math, Lent is traditionally 40 days, though it is necessary to either omit Sundays or Holy Week to make the numbers work out).

Saturday, March 26 is our first Bingo Night at St. Mary’s! I hope you will join us at 4 p.m. for Bingo and at 6 p.m. for chili. If you are planning to join us, please sign up in the Parish Hall so we have a general idea of how much chili to make.

Our next movie and discussion is Sunday, March 27 at 11:30 a.m. at Emmanuel UCC. We will be watching the movie Encanto, an animated movie all about the magic and belonging of family. Other movies will include Zootopia in April and Inside Out in May. I hope you will join us in coming together with Emmanuel for some shared ministry. This is also a wonderful opportunity to invite family and friends to join us for food and a movie. This month we will have pizza.

For the next two weeks, we will be gathering gifts for Jenny, our Parish Intern. It has been such a joy to have her with us these last several months, and we thought it might be nice to give her cards and small tokens of our appreciation. There will be gift bags in the Narthex on March 20 and 27 to gather the gifts and we will present them to Jenny on March 27. Thank you to Outreach for organizing this lovely gesture.

Finally, I am in search of a volunteer who is willing to set up and record our services at 8 a.m. If you are interested, please let me know. It is not too complicated, and I am happy to show you how. It involves setting up the camera, turning it on and turning it off. Many thanks to Tom who has been our videographer throughout Covid. Tom is being claimed by the choir to help lead the music at 10 a.m., and so will not be available at 8 a.m. Many thanks to Tom! And you are interested in stepping up, please let me know.

Prayers and blessings,
Mother Pippa
