During this Advent season, I hope you are finding blessings in light and in dark, in work and in rest. May you prepare for Jesus’ coming, heed the message of the prophets, and proclaim forgiveness of sins.
Thank you to everyone who participated in the survey and discussion about our fests for 2022. We will have Strawberry Fest on June 26. This will be a full fest (Covid permitting) and should be a lot of fun. We will also have a cart of books available in the Parish Hall (and the Narthex) with books available for a donation. These will also be available during Strawberry Fest. If you are interested in helping to rotate the books, please let me know.
We are considering being a part of the Dousman Rummage Sale. If we decide to join, we would let parishioners set up stalls in the parking lot and perhaps the church would sell food and drinks.
Thank you to everyone who filled in your Christmas Eve Service time surveys. This year our Pageant will be at 2 p.m. and our Christmas Eve service will be at 5 p.m. Please let me know how you think that works, and we may keep the times for 2022 or readjust.
Sunday is the Dousman Winterfest, so be sure to come to downtown Dousman, taste some chili and vote for St. Mary’s chili! There will be carriage rides, crafts for kids, a wood carving auction, ice sculptures and Santa will come to town on a fire truck! You can also join the Bike Doctor’s Santa Ride at 10:30 a.m.
Other upcoming events include: Tin Eng’s Memorial Reception (Saturday, December 18 at noon); Lessons & Carols (Sunday, December 19 at both services); Longest Night (Sunday, December 19 at 5 p.m.); Christmas Eve Pageant (Friday, December 24 at 2 p.m.); Christmas Eve Eucharist (Friday, December 24 at 5 p.m.); Christmas Day Eucharist (Saturday, December 25 at 10 a.m.); Christmas I Service (Sunday, December 26 at 9 a.m.); and Epiphany Evensong (Thursday, January 6 at 7 p.m.) Mark your calendars, and I hope to see you there.
Prayers and Blessings,
Mother Pippa
