From Mother Pippa 10.3.2023

We are hitting October with a running start. I hope you will join us for 9 a.m. service by the river this Sunday, followed by a potluck. If you are able to help move chairs down to the river and back again, it would be much appreciated.

Outreach continues to lead the winter coat and other clothing collection for the Hope Center, a Waukesha-based non-profit that focuses on serving the homeless. We have added a year-round toiletry collection bin in the Parish Hall to help supply the Hope Center with soap, shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, deodorant, etc.

Our annual Life Event classes are scheduled for the next three weeks (plus one in November). Please join us at 6 p.m. in the Chapel to learn about:
October 9 – The Hills & Valleys: A Talk on Mental Health with Isabella Faccidomo (Herzing University)
October 16 – Wills & Probate with Jordan Robinson-Delaney
October 23 – Advanced Health Care Directives, etc. with Jamie Mileager (Shorehaven)
November 13 – Minimum Distributions & Designated Charities with Karen Arenz (Edward Jones)

We are looking for volunteers to help serve chili at the Halloween on Main event in Dousman on October 28. You don’t need to make the chili, but we are looking for people to serve chili and talk up St. Mary’s. We could also use some people to man our pie booth as we raise funds to repair the chapel roof. When it rains and there is a strong wind we get water inside the building, and we hope that by being proactive we can prevent future damage.

Next Saturday, October 14, is our last Adopt a Highway for the year. If you are able to come and clean up Delafield Road (County Road DR) between Highway 67 and Sawyer Road, please sign up in the Parish Hall. The forecast looks fairly mild, with a chance of rain, so please do dress appropriately.

Prayers and Blessings,
Mother Pippa
