From Mother Pippa 10.25.2022

Join us for outdoor fellowship as we hike on November 5! Please sign up if you’d like to join us so we can let you know where to meet at 1 p.m. Our hikes tend to be fairly level on well-maintained trails. All are welcome (family and friends too!).

On Sunday, November 6 we fall back one hour, which means if you don’t set your clocks you will be an hour early to church. Also on November 6 we are having our All Saints Evensong in the Chapel at 5 p.m. Please bring a saint icon to decorate our space – one you have, one you’ve made, or one you’ve printed from the internet.

We continue to reach out to kids in our community with our Advent Family Craft Day on November 19. If you are able to supervise a craft for an hour or two, please sign up in the Parish Hall. If you have kids in your life, please bring them to Emmanuel between 9 a.m. and noon.

Finally, I was bowled over with gratitude this week. It seems every time I walk in the doors at St. Mary’s there is something new to be grateful for. The beds are tidied and weeded; the planters change seasonally; the hedges are trimmed; the outdoor altar is sanded, varnished and sealed; the basement becomes progressively more organized; and so much more. Volunteers step forward to feed people, teach Sunday School, lead worship, plan fellowship and reach out to our community. Our pledge cards continue to come in with people’s love and support of this parish. I know I am missing a ton of ways that people step forward to pitch in and share, and I want to thank you too. I feel so lucky to be here. Thank you for all the ways big and small you show your love to this parish, your love for this world, and most importantly, your love for God.

Prayers and Blessings,
Mother Pippa
