We are updating our poster of parish members! Turning this update into an annual tradition, we are asking you to check the photo directory and decide if you’d like to use a different photo for the poster. If so, please submit a photo to Lynn or catch me on Sunday and I’ll take a new photo of you. We are planning to print in February, so please get those photos to us!
Saturday, January 15 we will go snow shoeing at Oak Ridge Farm (S40 W35961 County Rd C in Dousman). You don’t need to have any previous experience, or any snow shoes. We will borrow from the farm and Carol C will lead us on an easy hike up the Ice Age Trail. Should we have a larger group, we can even split into a shorter walk group and a longer walk group. I had so much going last year, I had never been snow shoeing before, and it was a blast! Please sign up in the Parish Hall and dress warmly!
Our movie discussion series will kick off on Sunday, January 23 at 11:30 a.m. We will provide pizza and you are welcome to bring a dish to share. We will include the people from Emmanuel UCC as we watch the movie and discuss it afterwards. January’s movie is Frozen and we will discuss themes of love, trust, secrets and sharing. Please let us know if you prefer to examine themes through children’s movies, or would prefer a more adult series. Upcoming dates include: February 27, March 27, April 24 and May 22.
Our Annual Meeting is coming up on Sunday, January 30. We will have one service at 9 a.m., followed by a potluck and the Annual Meeting at 10:30 a.m. I have checked the football schedule and this will hopefully not conflict with any of the games (when I checked this week there were not yet times listed for the January 30 games).
We will offer live and Zoom options for the Annual Meeting, and hope everyone will join us.
Our Bishop’s Visit is coming up on February 13. I hope you will join us for worship and fellowship that day. Bishop Lee is a wonderful leader and I have been so grateful to him during the last year. Bishop visits are a traditional time for confirmation. If anyone is interested in a public ritual of faith, please sign up in the Parish Hall. We’ll run a class if there is interest.
Prayers and blessings,
Mother Pippa
