From Mother Pippa 8.6.2024

Weather permitting, this Sunday is our last outdoor service at 10 a.m. I hope we will be able to worship by the river. Last Sunday at 8 a.m. we were able to admire the prairieland, river and trees while worshiping God. St. Mary’s is blessed not only with beautiful nature, but also with dedicated volunteers to care for it.

Work on the roof is scheduled to begin sometime during the week of the 12th. One N Done, an Amish Company with an excellent history, will start with the Chapel. Hopefully we have had our last leak because of weather in the Chapel!

This is my last Sunday at St. Mary’s before I head off on vacation. I will be out of town August 18-31. Thanks to Father Scott and Father Ryan for leading service in my absence, and to Father Ryan and Deacon Chuck for being on hand for pastoral needs.

Are you interested in serving on Vestry? We have three spots coming open. We will be voting on September 8, and the term will begin in January of 2025. Vestry is a two year commitment. The Vestry meets monthly on third Tuesdays, except in January when we have a start of term retreat and set goals for the year.
Alternatively, are you interested in being a Diocesan Delegate? We have three spots for 2025. This is a one-year term, and involves attending Convention in October (date TBA)

Finally, August 13 is election day! If you’ve not already voted, I hope you will show up and cast your ballot. I will be at the Oconomowoc Police Department all day to help with the election.

Prayers and Blessings,
Mother Pippa
