September is officially here, and with it, the start of the program year! We will kick things off on September 19 with our Easter in September celebration, as well as Fall Fest. There are a whole variety of ways to get involved:
- Book Sale set up, selling and clean up (we need extra set up help especially!)
- Fall Fest set up, help and clean up
- Adopt a window (materials in the Parish Hall)
In addition to the Book Sale and Fall Fest we also have another exciting fellowship opportunity: Kayaking on the Bark River! We have a sign up sheet in the Parish Hall and all are welcome! You don’t even need to have your own kayak or life jacket (but please let us know if we need to provide one for you). We are planning to gather at the Bark River just south of the Highway P Park-And-Ride and kayak to church on September 11 at 10 a.m. If we are rained out, we will try September 12 at 1 p.m. I hope to see you there!
This week I have heard several people hit with a fishing scam. The emails claim to come from me and say:
Are you available? I have a discreet request for you to manage now. I will appreciate a swift correspondence via email.
Blessings,
Reverend Pippa Lindwright
These do not come from me! Please don’t respond to them, and just delete them. If you look at the email address, you will see it says: “Rev. Pippa Lindwright” <pastoroffice76@gmail.com>. That is not my email. More importantly, if I ever need to talk to you discretely, I will call you on the phone. If you respond to these emails, they will ask for gift cards. I will never ask for gift cards via email. Thank you to everyone who let me know of this scam, it really helps to know when the scammers are trying to take advantage.
Finally, as the Covid numbers rise, I want to hear from you:
- Would you be interested in a service where everyone is masked?
- Would you not attend a service where masks are required?
- Would you be interested in a drive in service?
- Are there ways we can help you feel safe at worship?
We will continue to post services online (they should be available by Monday) and the 10 a.m. service will be on the radio, but I want to hear from you to make sure we are doing all we can to support people’s religious community at this time. As the numbers go up it does seem likely that masks might come back into church, but I wanted to hear from you all first. Thank you for your time and feedback.
Prayers and blessings,
Mother Pippa
