The numbers are in, and at Strawberry Fest we raised $11,982.85! Last year we had perfect weather and netted $13k, so this was a truly incredible year. Thank you all for your hard work! Particular thanks to John and Tom for leading such an amazing effort.
If you are leading a ministry, you hopefully received a request to write a report for our September Annual Meeting. If you did not receive an email, please let me know! We are trying to gather a snapshot of who we are in 2024 as we look toward the future.
I am also now looking for new Vestry members, as well as Delegates for Diocesan Convention 2025.
Vestry members are elected for a 2-year term and attend a monthly Vestry meeting on third Tuesdays from 6-8 p.m. We also have a start of term retreat on as Saturday in January from 9-11:30 a.m. At our retreat we pick three goals to focus on in the upcoming year. Each month we check in on what’s happening in the parish, work to communicate with the parish and the wider community, and review the budget with the help of our treasurer.
If you might be interested in serving on Vestry, please talk to Mother Pippa, Jane, John, Tom, Craig, Diane, Sally, Deacon Ryan or Deacon Chuck.
Diocesan Delegates are sent to our Annual Diocesan Convention. St. Mary’s sends two lay members and our clergy. Delegates serve for a one-year term. They can serve more than one term if they like. Delegates are expected to attend Convention (generally scheduled on a Saturday in October). Before Convention they read through the nominations for Diocesan roles, any resolutions proposed, and the budget.
Finally, let’s talk about burial! Specifically, what might a columbarium and/or memorial garden look like at St. Mary’s. We’ll have Coffee Hour Talks on July 14 after both services, as well on August 4. Hope to see you there! If you can’t make it, please feel free to call or email me with your thoughts.
Prayers and Blessings,
Mother Pippa
