FROM MOTHER PIPPA 5.18.2021

Thank you to Jim, June, Bob, Sandie, Mary-Beth and Marian for helping with Adopt a Highway last weekend! We picked up seven bags of trash as well as one tire! Additional thanks to Mary-Beth and her team for cleaning up the Church last Sunday. We moved the hymnals and prayer books out of the basement and back into the pews – it is so wonderful to see them again!

This Sunday is Pentecost – the birthday of the church! Pentecost is the day we celebrate the gift of the Holy Spirit. Take a moment to consider it – God chose to be incarnate in Jesus, and then further chose to manifest inside each and every one of us. Wow! I encourage you to wear red this Sunday to celebrate the fiery and unpredictable gift that permanently and irrevocably changes our lives.

Strawberry Fest continues to hum away. We are cutting berries on Saturday, May 22 at 10 a.m. Please join us if you can. We also have printed out flyers and order sheets for distribution. If you have a bulletin board or two to hang them on, please pick them up after church. I also hope you will fill out an order form and continue supporting the important work of the Haiti Project in Jeanette at St. Marc’s.

The Building Team meets next week to proof an update brochure for the parish. We wanted to touch base with you all and show you the (very slow) progress being made. While we have mostly not met in 2020, we do have some new drawings to share and hope to have an all-parish meeting in the not too distant future. We are still waiting for Diocesan approval for such activities, and I truly believe we are moving closer every day.

Finally, assuming everything went well this week, we have new internet! Spectrum is scheduled for May 19 to hook up our much faster internet, and hopefully that went very smoothly. If it did, we will start streaming the 8 a.m. service to Facebook at 8 a.m. and will then post the service to YouTube later. Please pray for us!

Prayers and blessings,
Mother Pippa
