A reminder that this Saturday is our Adopt a Highway! Please consider showing up at 9 a.m. to help clean up County Road DR! It’s a lovely walk, and I feel better knowing that all the trash we collect is no longer polluting the area. Thanks to Jim L. for his leadership!
Unable to join us for Adopt a Highway? No worries, Sunday is Clean Up Sunday! Stay after either service and tackle the list of chores to keep our building and grounds shiny and welcoming. Mary-Beth will have the list and supplies available to people.
Next Sunday is Pentecost, so Monday is your last chance to sign up to read Acts 2:1-21 in another language or to submit the name of someone who is graduating. During the first reading (which is the reading from Acts), we will invite our readers to read simultaneously with the reader who is reading in English. While the English reader will be on a microphone, everyone else will just be doing their best to project. As such, it’s ok if you have some hesitancy with pronunciation. When the English reader finishes, they will pause, and everyone else will stop, no matter where they are in the reading. We will pray for all graduates that Sunday, so please get your graduates names into the office. Finally, it is traditional on Pentecost to celebrate by wearing red, so please do!
As infection rates continue to go down in Wisconsin, I have a question, especially for the folks attending the 10 a.m. service. Do you come at 10 a.m. because you prefer the time, or because you prefer worshipping in the parking lot? I want to make sure people feel safe attending worship, and that we always have options that work for people. However, if you are eager to get back inside, we could do that, so long as everyone wears masks. We were able to sing at 8 a.m. last week due to every parishioner being vaccinated, and once 10 a.m. is similarly vaccinated, we could sing masked inside as well. Please let me know if you feel strongly one way or the other, thank you!
Prayers and Blessings,
Mother Pippa
