I hope you had a chance to get out and enjoy some of the warmer weather this week. It is starting to feel like spring, and I am so enjoying watching the daffodils, crocuses and other flowers poke their heads out of the ground.
In another sign of Spring – the Strawberry Fest sign-up sheets are posted! There are many different ways to be involved – planning and preparation, publicity, as well helping out on the day. If you are able to: bake rum cake or shortcake; bake for the bake sale; donate to the raffle; help with set up; or volunteer on the day, please sign up. The sooner you sign up, the quicker John and Tom’s blood pressure goes down.
This Sunday we are welcoming a group from Pagenkopf to present on a columbarium possibility. They will be at both coffee hours with information about their service. Basically, they sell indoor columbariums with 24 niches. There is one model, and they handle all the installation. As niches are reserved, they also would be responsible for updating the plaques. When people are interred in the columbarium they would be on site to help open the niche, as well as putting on a new plaque with the person’s name and dates as well as a QR code that links to a website where people can post memories and photos about their loved one.
If you are interested, please let me know. I would also welcome feedback about whether it would be best to place the columbarium (assuming we go with Pagenkopf) in the church narthex or in the back of the chapel.
Prayers and Blessings,
Mother Pippa
