Thank you to everyone for your generous support of our three Easter ministries! We raised a total of $3290 to split between Family Promise, the Kettle Moraine Food Pantry and the St. Mary’s Discretionary Fund. I continue to be awed and humbled by the generosity of spirit that so defines St. Mary’s.
Speaking of generosity, our Narthex seems quite full of shoes. Sunday is the last day that we are collecting shoes for the August medical mission trip with Vida Volunteers and Funds2Orgs. The shoes will be given to people and small business owners in Guatemala, Nicaragua and Haiti. This small act of kindness helps them create their own opportunities that will lead them to sustainability. Thank you to all who participated!
May 23 is Pentecost! On that day we will read the lesson from Acts (2:1-21) in a variety of languages. If you are interested in reading the passage in another language, please be in touch and let me know the language and the service. The cacophony of sound should help us recreate the miracle of understanding from that first Pentecost, the start date of the church.
On May 23 we will also be recognizing our graduates. If you, a family member or friend is graduating this Spring, please let us know. We will list the graduates in the bulletin on that day. Perhaps they are graduating from high school, college or graduate school. Or perhaps they just finished a certificate, fifth grade, or other program. Whatever it is, let us all celebrate their achievement together.
Finally, as the weather continues to warm, you are welcome to bring your lawn chairs (or steal chairs from the Parish Hall) for Parking Lot church. We have a radio to point your way to help you hear the service, and hope you enjoy the lovely weather and closer community. My thought is that chairs could be set in front on the cars, so that people can see the front as well as one another.
Prayers and blessings,
Mother Pippa
