From Mother Pippa

Starting this Sunday, we are returning to two in person services at 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. each Sunday. Masks are required regardless of your vaccination status, and we will provide surgical masks for those who want them. The CDC recommends N-95 or KN-95 masks. Further, we recommend that people space out physically during the service.
We will continue to post our service online, and you are also welcome to tune in to 97.9 FM in the parking lot at 10 a.m. to listen to the service.
If you attend in-person church and then test positive within three days, please let the office know so that we can inform the parish. We will never disclose your name, but will simply identify that “a person at the 8 a.m. service has tested positive.”
Coffee Hour is staying on pause through the month of February. It is our hope that as the numbers continue to come down that we will be able to reconsider for March.

This Sunday we will have Candlemas Evensong at 5 p.m. in the Chapel. As we reflect on Jesus being “the light of the world” let us also remember the infant held in Simeon’s arms, and the evangelical work of the prophet Anna. If you would like to bring a candle with you, I’ll be happy to bless it.

Next Sunday is our Bishop’s Visit! Bishop Lee will preach and preside at the 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. services. In lieu of a Coffee Hour, we will be holding a meet and greet in the church at 9 a.m. Please come and get to know our Provisional Bishop.

Our Outreach Team has a survey for you to fill out. Please pick one up in the Narthex and give them feedback on the types of Outreach you’d like St. Mary’s to be involved in.

Finally, please mark your calendars. Ash Wednesday is March 2 and we will have services at 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. Our Lent Quiet Day is Saturday, March 5, and there is a sign up sheet in the Narthex. Wednesday mornings during Lent we will be reading Letting Go with All Your Heart, Soul, Strength and Mind. You can pick up the booklets in the Narthex. On Wednesday evenings during Lent we will learn about the Anglican Rosary. Thank you to our parish intern, Jenny M. for leading the class.

Prayers and Blessings,
Mother Pippa
